The Six Sigma philosophy is actually very simple yet very powerful. In its simplest form it can be stated this way, “We do not make mistakes – ever – but if we do, we learn from it and we do not make that mistake again.” We will present the fundamental concepts and tools of Six Sigma and illustrate their application in software development. By implementing the basic principles of the Six Sigma approach, a programmer will constantly be improving his or her performance by identifying and correcting the root causes of mistakes resulting in less recoding and faster delivery of error-free code, this time and every time.
